Sleep Screening with Home Monitor

sleep sat.jpg

While the "gold standard" of diagnosis for sleep apnea is a overnight study in a sleep lab, we are generally looking not just for sleep apnea but for ANY discomfort you may have breathing while asleep.  That is, many people successfully struggle to breathe and therefore don't have apnea.  But they are still not getting a good night's sleep either.  And that's what I want to know.

The High-Resolution Pulse Oximeter can tell us that.  It is a wrist-worn device that's easy for adults and children to wear.   You will do several nights of wear to get a good average.  You'll also wear it after we've done some therapy to test for progress.

We also use the SleepImage device for smaller children (ages 2 and up).  It is a ring worn on the thumb and tracks the stability of sleep by comparing heart rate and breathing rate.  It's easy to wear and use.   We'll also do before and after readings.

Both sets of readings and a printed report are included in the fee.

(BTW, Some people with chronic problems want to buy their own.  www.sleepsat.comwww.sleepimage.com)

Fee $195
includes use of monitor and printed reports.

Fine Print:  Lost or broken monitors will be charged to the credit card on file for the full replacement value (up to $400.)   Monitors kept for more than the agreed-upon time will incur additional rental fees.  So please take care of the monitor and return it to us as soon as you can.

Thanks for that.
